FireEagle雅虎的位置信息服務

利用Google在線地圖API進行MashUp的WEB應用已經有不少了，而Yahoo!的聽說的倒是很少見。

從Yahoo!開發者社區才了解到這個叫FireEagle的項目，由於沒有邀請碼，所以只好看看其他人的評說。



當初的域名是http://fireeagle.research.yahoo.com/，
現在則是轉換到：http://fireeagle.yahoo.net/

Yahoo!加入了"圈地遊戲"，於07年11月初開始推出FireEagle的內測版本。同期上線的Kickstart和FireEagle都是Yahoo!高級產品和Brickhouse集團開發的產品，這是一個新成立不久的部門，主要負責開發創新服務。

外灘畫報評論FireEagle是一個Twitter的變種者。

FireEagle是幫助用戶在線分享地理信息的位置感知中間件。FireEagle完全使用Ruby on Rails搭建，最初是源自於Yahoo! Berkeley研究中心的ZoneTag項目。
